A man from Ariyankuppam, Puducherry used to fight with his wife often and would suspect her of having alleged relationships with other men. Due to this, the women along with her two daughters, aged 15 and 18 used to stay separately in a rented house in Muthialpet.

The husband even then used to show up drunk and demanded money. When denied, he would publicly shame his wife with accusations.
Tired of this, the woman on Thursday morning called him to his house. She promised to borrow money from her elder sister and buy him a boat as he was a fisherman.

Police booked the 35 year old woman under IPC Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of Indian Penal Code.
