WB government to recruit 6,000 interns and will pay Rs 5000 per month as stipend.

The West Bengal government, in association with the higher education department, is introducing a student internship scheme for graduates. Students will have to be residents of West Bengal, be under 40 years old, and have graduated with 60% marks in their final year (degree or diploma programmes). This also includes those from ITI or polytechnic institutes in the state.

Disturbed by post Mamata Banerjee blocks Governor on Twitter

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said she has blocked governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Twitter as she is “disturbed” by his regular posts against her government. Moments after Mamata’s statement, governor Dhankhar cited the Indian Constitution and said that Article 159 mandates him to ensure that no one in the state “blocks” the constitutional norms and rules of law.

The PLC was not able to find candidates for Raja Sansi, Zira and Nawanshahr Assembly constituencies. It had earlier nominated Satvir Singh Pallijhikki, who had quit Congress to join PLC, from Nawanshahr. Pallijhikki, however, ditched the PLC on Sunday and returned to the Congress, which nominated him from Nawanshahr. The PLC is learnt to have asked the BJP to field its candidate from there. The BJP, late Monday, named Poonam Manik from the seat.
