Many users on Twitter started using the hashtag #BoycottChhapaak to show their protest against her.
The movie Chhapaak is based on an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The movie is all set to release on Friday.
People have started cancelling same seats in the same cinema hall. To show their contribution, users have been sharing screenshots of their cancelled tickets on Twitter.
It all started when Deepika Padukone came near JNU on Tuesday where student leaders were addressing a gathering. The student leaders were expressing their disapproval against the attack by masked men and women on Varsity students.
Deepika Padukone was seen standing with the students at the Sabarmati T-point which was called by the JNU alumni.
Padukone also met Aishe Ghosh, JNUSU President who was injured during the violence. Though Padukone did not address the meet, she left after an hour.
Former JNU students Kanhaiya Kumar, D Raja,Yogendra Yadav and Sitaram Yechury were also seen at the meet.
