Nepali PhD Student tested positive for Coronavirus in Nepal
The death toll of coronavirus has rose to 41 and more than thousands of people in China has been infected with the coronavirus. In a statement by Health Commission of Hubei Province, they said that another 180 cases has been reported.
15 more deaths were confirmed due to the coronavirus at the end of Friday.
Nepali PhD Student tested positive for Coronavirus in Nepal
The virus has now spread to Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Nepal, France and the United States.
A 31 year old Nepali student who had returned from China was tested positive in Nepal. The man was doing his PhD in Wuhan and had returned on January 5. After complaining of respiratory problems he was admitted on January 13. He was discharged 5 days later.
When his blood samples was sent to WHO’s Collaborating Centre in Hong Kong this Tuesday, the test was positive.
Since his discharge on January 17 it is unknown where the man had gone and his activities.
Authorities in Nepal have been slow to react and airport screenings have yet to be made mandatory.
Thousands of tourists visit Nepal each year and Nepal is aiming to attract more tourists for its Visit Nepal 2020 campaign.
In Kerala, India, several people who had returned from China were hositalised after they had fever. Around 80 people who has been suspected of coronavirus has been kept under medical observation.
20,000 people who have returned from China are undergoing thermal screening at around seven airports in India.
What is coronavirus?
Coronavirus falls under the same family as SARS and MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome). It is a new strain of coronavirus which was originated in Wuhan City, Hubei Province in China.
The virus has now spread across the country as well as other countries as well.

Person who has coronavirus usually have a mild to moderate upper respiratory tract illnesses. It is similar to having common cold and most people get infected by it. Though they last for short period of time only.
Coronavirus symptoms include having runny nose, headache, cough, fever and sore throat. Person having the virus usually get the feeling of being unwell.
People infected with the virus can also get pneumonia, bronchitis and severe disease such as SARS.
People with weak immune system, infants and elderly people are prone to catch the virus quickly.

The virus spread through air and also through contact. Coughing and sneezing and touching with the virus on the surface coming with contact with another person spread the virus.
How to prevent getting infected by coronavirus?
Currently there are no vaccines for coronavirus infection. Doctors advice that washing your hands with soap for stleast 20 seconds and avoiding contact with people who are sick.
