BIG NEWS – Earthquake hits India, Tremors felt in This Region. On Tuesday evening, a moderate earthquake struck a forest region in Nepal Tuesday evening. Tremors of the earthquake were reported from Delhi, the larger National Capital Region and parts of North India. Tremors of the earthquake were reported from Delhi-NCR, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

According to intial information, the epicentre of the earthquake was near the India-Nepal border. The earthquake was measured at magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicentre was located in Nepal’s Khaptad National Park.
The US agency, in its assessment, also said that the epicentre of the earthquake was located just 1.3 km below ground.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage due to the earthquake Tuesday evening.
In 2015, a severe earthquake devastated Nepal, killing nearly 9,000 people and causing significant damage to infrastructure.
