After suffering a septic shock on Monday, due to his lung infection, the former president’s health deteriorated.

Former President Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee death was announced by his son Abhijit Mukherjee.
The 84-year-old was admitted to the military hospital on 10 August and also tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the surgery. He later developed a lung infection.

He endeared himself to people across the political spectrum,” President Ram Nath Kovind said in a message.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “India grieves the passing away of Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee. He has left an indelible mark on the development trajectory of our nation. A scholar par excellence, a towering statesman, he was admired across the political spectrum & by all sections of society.”
Pranab Mukherjee before being elected as India’s 13th President was a very powerful orator and scholar. He started serving for the country from July 2012 to 2017 in the top post.
