Elephant was killed with a burning tyre in Tamil Nadu. A forty years old elephant was attacked with a burning tyre in a private resort. An elephant died after it was set on fire by a villager in Tamil Nadu.
An elephant was badly injured. Its ears got hurt and was bleeding too. The elephant was found by some of the forest department guards in Masinagudi. They were about to take it for a treatment to a facility at the Mudumalai forest range, but it died before hand.
By conducting an autopsy, officials realised that severe injuries was caused due to the burns. The elephant died as villagers had thrown a piece of burning tyre to chase away the elephant from the local resort. The elephant ran away in distress as the burning tyre got stuck in its ear. Somehow, the incident was captured through a viral video which took place in Masinagudi in Nilgiris. In the video everyone can clearly see that a man has thrown the burning object at the elephant in order to chase the animal away from their locality.

Forest rangers found that the elephant was severely injured in the back and ear after doing autopsy. On January 19, while being transported to a camp for medical treatment the animal unfortunately died. The elephant was found in a very weak condition and had been tranqulised before being transported.
The Kumki elephants was used to catch it and was transported to Theppakadu elephant camp after it died.
Kumki elephants are trained captive elephants which are used to trap wild elephants. Sometimes even to rescue or to provide medical treatment to an injured one.
After the incident became noticeable by the public, three men was declared responsible for setting the elephant on fire.
Three people who were involved in the incident were Prasath, Raymond Dean and Ricky Rayan. While two people are found and arrested, the third person is yet to be arrested.
