87-year-old Superfan Charulata Patel passes away
87-year-old Charulata Patel superfan of Team India who became famous across India during the Cricket World Cup 2019 passed away on 13th January. She was caught by the cameraman in the stadium during a match between Team India and Bangladesh. Charulata Patel became more famous when Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma went to her and chatted with her and asked for her blessings.

The news was confirmed in her Official Instagram account. Such was her enthusiasm to Team India, that she had a tricolour scarf wrapped around her neck and screamed throughout the match. Michael Vaughan, for England captain also posted her picture on Instagram with the title, “The Picture of the World Cup”.
She was also present in the final game of the group stage against Sri Lanka in Headingley, Leeds. She was promised match tickets by the Team India captain Virat Kohli after the match against Bangladesh.
It seems that Charulata Patel was very fond of cricket and was also present at the Lord’s when Kapil Dev’s Team India won the World Cup beating West Indies in 1983.
